Ductless Splits - Like central air conditioning, these units have a split design but use air ducts, making the units easier and less expensive to install than central air conditioning. The system has at least one unit that sits inside and is the air handler. The compressor sits outside the house. Some models come with multiple air handlers that will use one compressor. You'll need to consider the number of air handles that you need - normally one air handler per room is best, if your home has open areas you may be able to cool multiple rooms with one handler.
